An industrial visit to Maruti Suzuki Pvt. Ltd. Service Centre, MIDC, Miraj was organized for 48 students as a part of the Power Engineering subject. The main objective of the visit was to study the working and application of the Exhaust Gas Analyser used in automobile servicing and emission testing.
During the visit, the service engineers explained the operation of the exhaust gas analyser and demonstrated how it measures the concentration of gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO₂), hydrocarbons (HC), oxygen (O₂), and nitrogen oxides (NOₓ) present in vehicle exhaust. Students learned how the analyser helps in evaluating engine performance, fuel combustion efficiency, and compliance with emission standards. The importance of regular vehicle maintenance in reducing air pollution and improving fuel efficiency was also discussed.
The visit provided practical exposure to modern automotive diagnostic equipment and enhanced the students’ understanding of emission control systems and environmental protection. It also helped bridge the gap between theoretical concepts taught in Power Engineering and their practical applications.
Overall, the industrial visit was highly informative and beneficial, providing valuable knowledge about exhaust gas analysis, engine diagnostics, and pollution control techniques.
