Expert Lecture on “ IC Engine Testing and Pollution Control ”
An expert lecture on “IC Engine Testing and Pollution Control” was conducted through online mode by Mr. D. S. Barbole, Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. The session provided valuable knowledge about the performance testing of internal combustion (IC) engines and the importance of controlling vehicle emissions.
Mr. Barbole explained various engine performance parameters such as brake power, fuel consumption, thermal efficiency, and mechanical efficiency. He also discussed different methods of engine testing and the instruments used for performance analysis.
The lecture highlighted the major pollutants emitted by IC engines, their harmful effects on the environment and human health, and the techniques used to reduce pollution. Topics such as emission control devices, catalytic converters, and government emission standards were also covered.
The session was interactive and informative, helping students understand both the theoretical and practical aspects of IC engine testing and pollution control. It enhanced participants’ technical knowledge and created awareness about environmental protection.
